In this presentation, the speaker outlines the methods, practice and challenges of conducting economic evaluations to inform health and social care policy in the UK. The speaker uses a case study where she developed an economic evaluation for the UK National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE). She describes the key challenges where more research is required, focusing on her research interests: care for the frail elderly, informal care, perspective, measures of benefits and cross-sectoral evaluations.
